About the contest


Swapan Nayak / Being and Nothingness

A collaboration of emotions, ideas and perspectives, aesthetically compiled to produce something breath-taking, is MONTAGE. The 10th edition of this international competition to win the title of MONTAGE'17 is of significant importance to JUPF. Critical evaluation by an eminent panel of judges often becomes the desired motivation for an amateur, while the commendation and recognition of MONTAGE serves as a laudable platform for many notable photographers of today. This annual photography competition cum exhibition by JUPC invites all photography enthusiasts to participate in this event and win a chance to showcase their work based either on a definite theme or open category in the grounds of the first-of-its-kind photo fest in Kolkata(JUPF'17).

Nayak's works have been published in various International magazines: TIME, News Week, Southern Exposure and others.
He will judge the series section of Montage 17.
Ronny Sen
A recipient of the 2016 Images Instagram Grant and many other international awards, Sen will judge the series section of Montage 17.
Sudipto Das
A senior photojournalist who has previously worked for the Associated Press, EPA, BBC News online, SPAN (India), and India Today, Das will judge the singles section of Montage 17.
Jayanta Saha
Often known as the 'Henri Cartier-Bresson of Kolkata', Saha will judge the Singles Section of Montage 17.

Kushal Gangopadhyay
Winner of international awards in National Geographic Traveler, Sony World Photography, Nikon Photo Contest, and other competitions, Gangopadhyay will judge the Singles section of Montage 17.
